With the greatest of respect - try to be less of a doomer, it's no way to live.

We can be realistic about how things will be for the next few years, but we can still celebrate wins.

It isn't going to take 20 years to fix this. This is not 1980, and this is a good ruling.

I think this is my favourite part. Judge taking absolutely no shit here. Tears apart the idea that she can't distinguish between trans women and cross dressers, and calls her out on making unevidenced claims, and on still using the toilets anyway after claiming they degrade her!

Well indeed, that's what I say in my second post

This of course, ignores that his own cis man space in reality has trans men in it, thus both spaces are 'cis and trans X', restoring the symmetry.

He'd have a better time arguing about a women's shelter without a male equivalent I think. But he doesn't want that, he wants total victory.

I *think* his argument is supposed to be that different facilities are discrimination by default, that mirroring so both sexes have the same makes them non-discriminatory (via proportionality), but allowing trans women in breaks the mirror by making an 'everyone space' and a 'cis man space'.

The Battlefield subreddit right now - same thing after every launch, the last game was always better, but wind the clock back and they were slating that one too. It's a meme at this point; and apparently a universal human trait.

Yes - but it also ignores the symmetry argument that they are themselves making.

Argument is that regular sex segregation is okay because it's symmetrical. Letting a trans woman in women's spaces makes asymmetry, thus discrimination.

But... Trans men use men's too... So it's still symmetrical...

... By 'less openly hostile' do you mean 'actually implementing the policies the Greens have', or do you just mean 'being nice, nodding and smiling, and then not actually having a wealth tax, ending hostile environment, advancing trans rights, or other such policies'? Because one of those won't work

Sure, but the people switching to the Greens don't just think Labour are crap. They think Labour are crap *because they have completely abandoned anythng left of Cameronite Toryism*

Let me ask *you* a question instead - what does Labour Britain look like to you, that gets these people back?
October 21, 2025 at 4:31 PM
The Greens don't have to have a better plan for decarbonisation than Ed Miliband. They just have to have a comparable policy that isn't attached to the same policy platform as 'Reform have a point about immigration', 'trans people should have less rights', and 'don't tax rich people more'.
October 21, 2025 at 4:27 PM
Lmao well there it is!

Not to put too fine a point on it, but the issue here is *your* view, not the population! Average voter doesn't give a shit what partisans believe; just whether parties do what they want. If you approach with the view 'Greens are just wrong', you'll never understand.
October 21, 2025 at 4:25 PM
Like, I don't understand how you get from 'people are switching to Green because Labour have just fully abandoned any pretense of the left in policy and practice', to 'Labour just need to be a bit less crap and annoying to win'. It's a *massive* understatement.
October 21, 2025 at 4:21 PM
Right but 'more hospitable' means 'having and implementing the policies', you understand that right?

A Green Britain would look like a modern social democratic nation with left of centre policies, instead of a race to the right. Yeah, similar to how a Labour Britain *should* look - but doesn't.
October 21, 2025 at 4:19 PM
What you're doing just comes off as minimisation of the Green Party and dismissive of its new followers - as if you're saying 'Ah well, Labour just needs a tweak and they'll flock back'

Labour needs a sea change in policy to get those voters back, and if that happens, the Green policy platform won.
