the book’s date is uncertain. Some place the sighting in al-Mustansir’s childhood (before he became ruler at seven), around 420–425 AH (1029–1034 AD). It was described as having three long tails, matching accounts of the great comet of 1032 .

The point is that observations of the comet’s 1032 return are very limited. According to the study, the comet had poor geometry at the time , it was near perihelion and too close to the Sun , so no European records exist. Only a few ancient Chinese observations were documented.

It's interesting that this period is close to the possible return of the de Cheseaux comet in 1402 (according to the study), but it is difficult to determine whether it was the same comet or other bright comets observed between 1029 and 1030.
