Hi I‘m Megan, you may have seen some of my work in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, or my work at my old studio PikPok in New Zealand where I worked on Shatter Remastered, Agent Intercept, My Cat Club and Rival Stars: Horse Racing.

Still finding my feet in Germany (and in German)

I’ve had the flu the last few days and have been catching up on Switch games I bought but never finished lol. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 being the big one. Wish its prequels were cheaper.

Watching Pluribus feels like interacting with an LLM. Horrifying.

Anthem is shutting down soon and I think everything about it has been re-litigated enough, so I'd just like to point out that the score by Sarah Schachner is one of my all time favourites in games. She has to be one of the most under-appreciated composers in the industry.

Is there any more freeing a feeling than aggressively cancelling a bunch of subscription services?

Unfortunately it's financially motivated but you have to count your blessings in this industry.

Well I got the time display working on my keyboard, so I feel like I've accomplished something for the year.

If you wanna get jumpscared by some bad async Rust code and USB I/O github.com/megahbite/mo...

It's pretty naive at the moment - it doesn't account for device connect/disconnection.

One minute you're idly wondering if you can get the clock on your Mountain Everest keyboard going on Linux, and next minute you're elbow deep in USB specs and packet dumps.

No snow in Düsseldorf (yet) but the ponds have partially frozen.

Those Swiss were on to something with that whole Raclette business. I'm stuffed and happy - hope everyone is having a good holiday season.

Last Christmas market visit before Christmas. Reibekuchen mit Apfelmus (potato fritters and apple sauce) and Orange Ingwer Glühwein (Orange Ginger mulled wine)

Well I will say one thing positive about Xbox. At least the Series S got us ready for aggressive memory optimisation that's going to be necessary for probably the next gen. I imagine some studios currently in mid-production are going to be panicking though.

Watching some red squirrels play in the trees outside my window and I will never get over how cute they are.

Sure would be nice if Larian employees could dare to have an opinion on social media without outlets writing entire articles about it. It must be exhausting.

Some real weirdos getting upset at Rust in the Linux kernel. I can only assume they can only write a line of code if they’re wearing a big cowboy hat.

If you wish to fascinate a group of game developers, give them a jigsaw puzzle.
