I would like to reiterate that if you do not enjoy one, or both, of these ingredients, then this is a moot point.
But, if you like both, then I highly recommend the pairing.

5a. My dad would actually sometimes add hot sauce or pickles or both? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
5b. I've had others suggest adding jelly. I keep meaning to, since I also enjoy pb&j sammies, but. It's so hard to deviate when you love the original.
