this system is fucking atrocious, it's actually a bunch of interconnected systems of power and it took 600 years for these people to get this entrenched and powerful

and that's with constant opposition in one form or another

it's a generational struggle you just need to stay plugged in and work

you don't need "the queer community" to do this, any more than you'd need a Nation to have a global neighbourhood, or a God to have a sense of moral reasoning. in fact, it is only through the collective process of community building on trust, friendship, and solidarity that "community" can exist.

your responsibility to others, should you assert yourself as a politicized subject, is a responsibility to be just and kind to the struggles of the oppressed regardless of whether you share some "nations" or "communities" or "scenes" with them or not, even if you are fundamentally nomadic

the communities formed out of the 20th century gay lib movements and aids activism were ones formed out of actual material struggle & even then were often fragmented - sylvia rivera gave her famous speech for a reason! there is no "natural solidarity" along sexuality, only politics
