I love reading great research about why people don't do what benefits them - like UBI and other pro-social behaviors. This is a compelling look at why people don't make more vegan choices. It definitely describes a bias I knew about but hadn't applied to food.

Well, here it is at last. I got a diagnosis of autism. I have so many feelings about this; it's not a surprise to anyone I know, I've always been "weird." Now it's time to think about how to adapt to (and also enjoy) the data. One thing is clear: Fuck RFKjr and his creepy, stupid, harmful theories.

I'm taking a break from my neurological evaluation for autism. I am happy-nervous. It takes four hours! Some of the tests are SO HARD. I got distracted by the HVAC and somebody's footsteps and laughter in the hallway and messed one up. But I guess that's why I'm here, right? To learn about me.

Giving up on the notion that I'll be going back to work as a specialty housekeeper at my age, I enrolled in sewing machine repair classes. I love it! It's complicated and precise troubleshooting, and suits my temperament perfectly. Plus I get to work from home and keep good tools out of landfills.

Tannins, same thing that wine has. They won't kill you but they're very bitter. So you soak in water a while, but it's no big deal.

Currently eating a piece of homemade acorn bread I made from acorns I chased Pittsburgh deer out from our yard to gather. Not sure it counts as perverted to steal a squirrel's lunch, but it's certainly an acquired taste. The neighbors probably think I'm insane. I hear my love of uni is sketchy, too.

As a non-driver, I was excited about them, and saving to get one. But how they're currently being used in my city (Pittsburgh) their reputation is souring. They're *used* like motorcycles here, or rather, like dirtbikes, on and off the trails, roads, and sidewalks; not good. I don't know a solution.
