September is also Childhood Cancer Awareness Month which is also dear to me as I lost my 11 y/o cousin to DIPG in March ‘24. Funding for research was already low, but is being cut further, thanks to this administration.

What bums me out about America is I've lived 10+ years in 3 distinctly different parts of it and spent significant time in 2 others and we're so much closer than they program us to believe. One year ago today, I had a hemithyroidectomy on the right side. The surgeon removed a 4.6 cm tumor that I would learn was cancerous. I had the left one removed & it was benign. A few weeks ago, I had a neck ultrasound (I had one in March). (1/)
