Or to put another way: the mechanics entice both mechanical and narrative choices that reinforce the themes and genre of the game.

The most memorable moments in our game have come from moments of high hunger leading to bestial failures, messy crits, and frenzies. You’ve always gotta pay your pound of flesh at some point, and I think these mechanics ask you to engage in and out of story with the game themed 🔥

To me: the mechanics push you in directions you may not always willingly go, but that develop the (inter)action of the game. I really like VtM5’s hunger and willpower for this. You’re tempted by the power they give you, but using them gives power over *you* to the Beast, adding danger later.
