My current usage of Bluesky has pretty much just relegated to being an art gallery. Sure, there are lots of great art and I enjoy seeing them and giving artists my acknowledgment, but something feels missing. It doesn't feel like a place where I can speak my mind and have good conversations.

In all honesty, Bluesky doesn't really fit me. I'll continue to stay here and post since I don't mind it, but I generally feel more at home with Mastodon.

I'm not doing any more ArtFight attacks this year. I am glad that I have at least done ONE, which is more than last year. It is a huge struggle for me to come up with ideas in the first place, it's a real fight for me to be motivated, and I don't feel comfortable publicizing the end results at all.

One thought I had for ArtFight was that I could do some of the animations I've been planning already but use other people's characters, but then I'd be afraid of pissing off the person I'm attacking because they didn't like that character being used in that particular way.

Back in May I began using VRChat to hang out with a few friends.
Today, I'm officially quitting VRChat.
It's such an awesome concept, and I did have some great interactions on there, but there are a few personal reasons that I'm quitting.

TBH I really don't like the tiny character limit here, seems like it penalizes any sort of substantial thought. Gotten used to Mastodon where the server I'm on has a 2048 char limit, so I can freely thought dump. I know the tiny limit is like a Twitter thing, doesn't mean it's a good idea.

Shoot, maybe there are more type designers on Bluesky than I previously assumed. A lot of them, or at least most of the designers I recognize and deeply respect, are on Mastodon. And that's really the main platform they talk about.

My goal for ArtFight is to do at least ONE attack. I know exactly what it'll be and for who. If I do not get anything else done on ArtFight I can say that I have finally participated and drew something I don't normally draw.
