The only reasonable thing I can think of, is that my son put the batteries back in the lights. Even though that seems really out of character for my teenager, I’m going to accept that as the explanation of what happened. Which in itself is really sweet. ❤️

Before I’m completely out the door, I turn back and lights on her tree are now off. At the same time as my brain is trying to comprehend what’s happening, the lights on the big Christmas tree come on. That’s it, I’m out the door, pretending nothing is happening before I start to freak out.

I start to check the battery pack and stop. I think, wtf am I going to do if I’m right and there aren’t batteries?!?! I turn around and start back out the door

This morning I’m rushing to leave the house, I’m about to walk out the door and notice her Christmas tree is lit. I start to walk over to check thinking, i know there’s not batteries in there…

Last night, I dusted the shelf and put her tree up with the little angel on top. I put new batteries in the string of lights and 5 mins later my son says he needs batteries. Knowing I just used the last 2, I take them out give them to him. i add batteries to my shopping list and go to bed.
