Attorney. He/him. Anti-fascist.
Things got more expensive, sure. But people also got richer. Wage growth outpaced inflation, especially for the lowest quintile of earners.

These people are all statistically and economically illiterate and are so mad about it.

I mean, arguably the reason we face no threats is because we have the military we do. This might be one of those “throwing the umbrella away in a rainstorm because you’re not getting wet” things.

Small towns are by far the worst place to live and I’m tired of everyone pretending otherwise

As an unhappy lawyering husband/dad with a very successful and happily lawyering wife, this is the dream.

See my other reply. I’m not saying they shouldn’t be taxed more. I’m just saying that calling them “working rich” is pretty accurate.
October 29, 2025 at 6:07 PM
Also to be clear I agree that those people should probably be taxed more! More importantly believe that my preferred policies will require those people to be taxed more. My only argument here is that calling the lower end of that spectrum the “working rich” is fairly accurate.
October 29, 2025 at 6:06 PM
This isn’t that absurd? A mid-level associate at a large firm might be pulling down $400k, and two white collar professionals together might combine for a household income of $400k. They’re still *extremely* well off but they are also still *working for a living.* They can’t live off assets.

Also the critics are giving us a false dichotomy. I can believe he’s genuinely grown and changed and still believe that doesn’t entitle him to be my party’s the candidate or a member of my government. We can embrace him as a converted ally without immediately giving him the keys to the kingdom.
October 29, 2025 at 5:46 PM
The reason red-brown alliances happen at all is because fascism is because fascism is an aesthetics-focused ideology and a lot of people on the left also have an aesthetics-focused ideology that happens to overlap significantly with fascism. They both agree “Blue-collar coded manly man is best man”
October 29, 2025 at 5:41 PM
This is why I think a lot of the left’s obsession with someone who appears blue collar is silly.

People will happily vote for a rich guy who is open about being rich, so that’s clearly not the problem here.

Does incredible wealth turn you evil? Or do you have to be evil to pursue and obtain incredible wealth?

We should find out which it is by giving me incredible wealth and seeing what happens.

1) the bartender isn’t liable, the bar is
2) this would just incentivize judges to lock everyone up every time no matter what
3) bail shouldn’t exist because it means rich people get to avoid being locked up while poor people don’t.

It certainly won’t be in a lot of cases, I’m sure. But if I know people, we’ll find a way to fight over anything. Especially unequally distributed resources.
October 18, 2025 at 4:55 PM
I’m sorry, have literally none of you ever heard of wars of conquest before? Stealing land and all the stuff on the land is a pretty common human activity, historically speaking.
October 18, 2025 at 4:50 PM
I agree. I support renewables. I just don’t think they’re going to end all conflict or whatever.
October 18, 2025 at 3:41 PM
And some people have problems understanding metaphor.
October 18, 2025 at 7:10 AM
Invading and occupying the territory they’re on.
October 18, 2025 at 6:58 AM
I don’t. Have you heard of a thing called invading and occupying territory? Pretty common human activity, we’re pretty good at it.
October 18, 2025 at 6:57 AM
lol my wife is both twice the lawyer I’ll ever be and way, way more aggressive than I could ever bear. And she’s not the exception amongst the female lawyers I know. This woman is so full of shit you’re gonna need a septic tank service company to clean her out.
October 17, 2025 at 10:03 PM
…what are you talking about?

The original post said renewables will reduce the incentives for conflict. My point is that they won’t; if we were willing to fight over farms and cities we’ll be just as willing to fight over solar farms and suburbs. Renewables don’t change anything.
October 17, 2025 at 8:07 PM
What do you think occupying territory is?

If you can steal the land you absolutely can steal homes and parking lots.
