Definitely! But the people who are the deepest in are going to be the loudest voices and it seems like the Dems feel like they can’t win that fight. I’m not advocating for that approach at all; I’m trying to find an explanation for the silence. Like I said initially, they can’t keep being silent.

How many times during the campaign did we hear “oh of course that’s not what he *actually* meant”?

It feels like they know that if they blast that (or anything), they’ll get blasted for over reacting and the MAGA base will believe it. So it actually makes their point weaker as the MAGA voices get louder. To a point, I think that’s true but they can’t continue to be silent on everything 😑
