"Ignorance is a sin."
The group really needs to change its name from "Stop Anti-Semitism" now to "Stop Anti-Zionism now"

Imagine, if you will, that NASA updated its website to suggest gravity might not exist, prompting CalTech and CERN to release statements saying, "With great sadness, we can no longer recommend listening to NASA."

This is what's happening in epidemiology.

@thecedarprince.bsky.social Hey, i was following your Javis.jl EEG tutorial and i was hoping you could help me with something. The top of the text is badly clipped, and idk what to do to fix that. I even copied the example code and ran that, but the result was the same. Any help is appreciated

Call it a hot take if you want, but at this point i believe every American should have to sit for a basic civics exam before registering to vote. Voting is too important a process to allow the uninformed to take part. Each passing day etches this conviction stronger upon my being.

I feel like James Spader could have slid right into the role of Frank Underwood in Spacey's stead. That would have, in my opinion, been better than killing him off screen.

The sheer amount of damage the manosphere has done to three generations of men and boys is astounding. Just, cartoonish misogyny around every fucking corner man

The audacity to have this banner and then just go fill racist. Be wary of performative allyship. This is how it ends the moment you oiss them off

It's actually crazy how cooked the USA is right now. We have one chance in a year to maybe try and claw some of this back, but i get the feeling fair elections are about to be a thing of the past

Sometimes, the uncomfortable truth and reality of a situation is that there aren't two sides to the story. And even in the many cases that there are two sides, sometimes one side is so disproportionately culpable that pretending both sides have equal weight is often damaging if not outright evil

People talk about how it'll take America decades to recover from the current administration's many blunders. But we're much larger than, say Germany, and we haven't even fully moved past the Civil War yet. I don't know if "recovery" preserves the country. I don't know if it can.

I think the most sobering, harrowing, and necessary realization when it comes to fascism is the reality that it happens because the majority of people are fine with it. People really do not care, for whatever reason. And we can't properly resist its influence until we reconcile this dilemma

The way MAGA has spun the concept of judicial checks and balances into the derogatory "activist judge" term really needs to be studied. Should also probably look into how these "small government" crusaders want the biggest possible government they can imagine

What's funny is they're not mad because they didn't get the halftime show. They're mad because they got it and they're not happy

Can anyone explain the purpose of a government that doesn't take care of its people? That feels like it's supposed to be the BASE purpose but maybe I'm wrong

I was mocked today for bringing up New England in an argument about snowfall. The person was claiming Iowa's snowfall was significant (pfft) and i was dumb for trying to bring up New England as a comparison since it's in the UK. You will NEVER convince me everybody's opinion matters

Zuckerberg's argument is they sometimes make mistakes with moderation so they just shouldn't try. What a spineless piece of shit.

Most people have no understanding of what venture has become in Silicon Valley and how far it has walked into the abyss of not just authoritarianism, but openly fascism, nor do they understand what their plan is, they are planning to remake the world by “disrupting” key pillars of free society.

I know people say the US will never switch to metric because it's too difficult. But if you take a look at consumer products, it's already happening. Like, does anybody in the US really not know what a 2L looks like?? Also, also: the inch is literally defined as 25.4 mm/2.54 cm!! It's SO dumb
