Kudos to my husband for winning with his niche reference costume tonight!

Not going out *for* Halloween exactly - off to see Self Esteem in conversation instead. But I'm wearing merch which does happen to double as signifying one of the scariest things out there #6musicdad

Wasn't really in the right mood when I arrived at Sam Ryder last night, but goddammit his energy is still so infectious that it got even me onside in the end.

Self Esteem: what can I say, the woman's a genius. This was an extraordinary show. Made an already great set of songs even more visceral.

The Spain news, AND I've just got tickets for SOAD in Poland 🇵🇱 sorted. Not a bad half hour!

It feels ages since I stopped writing. I used to even get paid for it sometimes! I stopped when I started working full time & had less time to see things, but I think I might be ready to dip my toes back in the water.

And so a single minute on Friday has inspired my first public words in a while. 🔴

Don't knock new for the sake of it, knock it because this looks more like the branding of a cereal packet than a major international event.

Back home, then. Liverpool looking immense, giving away two easy goals and still winning anyway. Seems familiar...Bring on the rest of the season! #lfc 🔴

Is right, Mo.

Knowing that a player in his position will be aware of his public voice, I find this quite a significant ramping up of his rhetoric from previous straightforward calls for aid. A shift in what his public activism looks like.

Another stunning van weekend away in the prettiest spot we've stayed in to date. So mentally refreshing.

Hits differently to staying at home because even on quiet weekends, there's always a sense that I should be sorting something life-admin-y. That's impossible when away in a field.

There's only one sport you'll see me in an England cap for. And it coincides with being a sport where a 10.15am pint is totally legit. 🏏

Had so much fun at 2000Trees @2000trees.bsky.social that we've just booked to go back next year. Which is more advanced planning than we ever do! But was a special vibe, can't wait to head back.

Catching up on test match reports from the BBC and Guardian 🏏. I know they'll have different editorial remits but it's fascinating to me how they're both packed full of adjectives and one uses them so much more better than the other.

- In an era of media cognitive dissonance, it's lovely to be surrounded by people who believe in the same things as you 🏳️‍⚧️🇵🇸

Finally (especially as a lot of my followers here are Eurovision related) Baby Lasagna absolutely killed it on Friday night! Totally belonged with a hardcore audience

Can't decide if this is a perfect weather forecast for a festival or a terrible one. At least it won't be soggy!

53 mile cycle from Liverpool, to Chester and back again? Completed it mate.

Sorry, I usually try and keep my feed light on politics (not because I don't care, but because there's much smarter already out there) but the cognitive dissonance of this being the BBC main page right now is sending me spiralling.

It's STILL going! Spotted at Milton Keynes.

Second excellent night this week seeing a favourite band just being outstandingly good at what they do.

Well LCD Soundsytem was one of the most life-affirming gigs I've been to in a long long time. The kind of show that makes you remember why you go to gigs, or even listen to music, at all. Truly glorious.

If you're in London in the next week & can get a ticket to their residency - GO!!

Consoled myself on Sunday by buying new-old vinyl which has just arrived and is sounding 💯

Eurovision season is over; getting ready for festival season has begun. Quite different in musical tone on the whole tbh.
