The agreement of deep cold east of Scandinavia is fairly remarkable on the ECM AI mean, although the main uncertainty is around this mid-Atlantic trough that models seem to be playing catch-up with a bit and have been doing so over the last few weeks.

Promising signs from the SYNOP and METAR stations today - should be drier and brighter tomorrow.

The interest to people who like cold weather will be the cold that remains to our E (can be seen here on the AIFS just E of Scandinavia). There has been some suggestion in modelling of a Scandi high developing which may advect some of this cold further W - will come back to this.

Cold air will transfer further SE overnight bringing sleet and snow, although any accumulations are likely to be limited to higher ground especially later in the day. It'll be interesting to see what occurs! #uksnow
