Are we surprised? They both fought against child tax credit expansion which would have cut childhood poverty in half. They’re not for anyone but themselves.

Mental illness is not a crime. Being poor is not a death sentence. God does not look favorably on those who harm the vulnerable and then stand smugly in their righteousness. What happened to Jordan Neely is a stain on all of us, and there is nothing nothing to be thankful for here.

Mental health crises on our trains have become so normalized that the cries for help are met with apathy and fear instead of humanity and action. And now, a man who acted with cruelty, without care or compassion, walks free. This is not justice. This is barbarity.
