40 years ago, I was thoroughly enjoying Epyx' brilliant multi-event cold-climate sports spectacular, Winter Games. It continued the series' tradition of unusual but very entertaining events, all articulated via absolutely top-tier audiovisuals, and all extremely fun to play.

40 years ago, I was really enjoying Little Computer People on C64, a progenitor to the Sims and other modern cosy-style games. Just really innovative and great fun. We somehow managed to kill our LCP due to a review version bug which, after a call with David Crane, was fixed!

35 years ago, I wrote about the Atari 2600 (yeah, typo) and talked about the idea of buying an old video game system and playing classic games for fun/historical interest. This idea wasn't called retro gaming yet, but would become increasingly popular through the 90s and beyond.

Die Computerbild hat's auch schon gemerkt: Der C64 Ultimate kommt. Das Besondere: Das Mainboard wurde originalgetreu nachgebaut obwohl ein FPGA, DDR- und Flash-Speicher, HDMI, WLAN und Ethernet verbaut sind. Magic! Oops, hätte fast die USB-Kassette übersehen...

40 years ago, Ocean - under the guise of Imagine - was advertising its ports of Konami's Yie Ar Kung-Fu coin-op. This early beat 'em up evolved the genre with unique characters and very fast-feeling gameplay, plus a wide variety of moves. The ports were generally very good.

Und ich will mich an dieser Stelle bei allen Kosmos-Fans bedanken. Die 13 Folgen sind jetzt durch, es werden keine weiteren mehr kommen. Wenn noch nicht getan, schaut Euch die letzten Folgen an, da diese spezielle deutsche Fassung YouTube verlassen muss.

Ich werde ein paar Videos gegen neue Varianten ersetzten - also nicht über die Reuploads wundern. So werden die Videos zu den "Besten Spielen des Jahres xyz" nur noch Kurzerläuterungen zu bereits vorgestellten Games enthalten - dann ist es für Stammzuschauer nicht mehr so langweilig 😉.
