🗣️Interested in disseminating your research to a wider audience?

Aishwarya Viswamitra will be running a workshop on communicating beyond academia!
Bring you research to life workshop

We spend years developing expertise, writing thesis chapters, and producing publications, but how do we communicate the heart of our research beyond academia? What happens when we need to explain our PhD to someone outside our field, in a single sentence, or through a single image?

Through interactive exercises, you’ll be challenged to:

Craft a 60-second ‘elevator pitch’ tailored to non-specialists
Find the one image that captures the essence of your work
Reflect on whose lives your research might impact, and how to show that
Translate academic language into accessible, engaging content

🤔Conducting emotionally demanding research?

@georgiabird.bsky.social will be running a workshop exploring the best practices for supporting researchers' mental health in EDR. She will be discussing a recent article by @maryquinton.bsky.social and the resultant guidelines (lnkd.in/ePuqvreb)!
Emotionally demanding research workshop

Researchers often engage with sensitive, traumatic, or deeply personal topics, but support and guidance on managing the emotional toll is rarely part of formal training. This workshop creates space to acknowledge that reality, share strategies, and build community around the challenges we often face alone.

The workshop will:
Explore the best practices for supporting researchers’ mental health in emotionally demanding research.
Reflect on individual research practices and engagement with sensitive topics
Discuss techniques to support students conducting emotionally demanding research
