Attended #FGSP2025 earlier this week, first ever conference outside of India! Extremely grateful to have gotten the opportunity to present and win 2nd place for this poster on the study I did with @mhennecke.bsky.social and Johannes Koopmann while I was still in India!
Pooja standing next to her FGSP poster, looking a bit unsure of how to pose. The poster is A0 size with light purple, blue and while color along with university logos at the top FGSP Poster prize certificate for 2nd place. Also comes with a chocolate and a pen! From left to right- Pooja, Marie, and Johannes posing next to the poster.

New paper! Miriam Pfister, Melanie Naumann, Veronika Brandstätter and I validated 13 state scales to capture change in students' affect, learning experiences, and study-related appraisals during exam preparation - useful tools to investigate the processes driving academic success.

It measures 9 goal dimensions. Some results: Demand, enjoyment, expectancy, and progress predicted subjective and exam performance as well as subjective well-being; external motivation and (perceived) support predicted only (aspects of) subjective well-being.

New paper with Korbinian Kiendl, @rhoyle.bsky.social & @kkleinke.de accepted at Motivation Science: After noticing that practices for measuring characteristics of personal goals (= goal dimensions) are a big mess (see Kiendl et al., 2022), we decided to develop and validate a measure: ...

1. I have spent a lot of time recently sending invitations for people to review papers, and this process works extremely differently from what I imagined when I was a student. Wanted to write out how I do it in case that's helpful for you all as you submit papers.

Self-control in daily life is more than willpower — but how well do commonly used trait scales capture this recent, broader view on self-control?

It's so troubling to follow the news in the U.S. this week.

Here is a resource on research funding in Germany that might be of interest to my #psychscisky colleagues in the U.S. (although I still cross my fingers you won't need it):
