Searingly true. It is very hard to shift out of complacency & the illusion of safety even when abuses of power are close by and heading straight at you like a horde of wasps. The moves towards fascism must be taken seriously far before it feels like an emergency. In reality, the emergency is NOW.

Next step for Supreme Court after disregarding the concept of “standing”: simply do away with the need for plaintiffs altogether and just start issuing orders consistent with their twisted policy preferences or their personal gain.

What the leader thinks people “deserve” has no place in a country operating under rule of law. Trump thinks he gets to decide what people deserve based on his whimsical perception and flawed info from lackeys. Therefore it follows we are not operating under rule of law.

Shameful. If Israel ever had moral ground to stand on, it is gone. At some point Israel will feel the toxic impacts of the moral injuries they are choosing to take on. The brutality perpetrated on the "other" in prisons eventually comes home in the form of DV, suicidality, and other dysfunction.

You forgot to include the time they spend making insider trading decisions on the daily, tho. They work pretty hard at getting personally richer ( if you call phoning your stickbroker work) while most of America gets poorer.
