Things like intentionally using low resolutions and blowing them up with interpolation filter over (for lines on top of color)

Think bricked wall of a system of lines and, then carved in cracks etc. red of clay is uniform, it’s just a color. Light does the rest, creates shadows in crevices etc.

Lots could be achieved nowadays without old school textures imo, it’s just never took off
