If Trump continues to violate court orders on SNAP, we should withhold payment of money owed to the federal government. My bill, the RECOURSE Act, would establish a process for New York to do this, but state and city officials could act without it, and they should.

Proud to pass legislation this evening to fix New York State tax law for renewable energy systems, so much-needed solar and wind projects can move forward.
Today, I was incredibly proud to pass legislation that will enshrine all the protections of the federal Fair Housing Act in State law. It’s a critical step to Trump-proof New York and ensure equal access to housing for New Yorkers, no matter what happens in Washington.

The Trump deportations are a threat to our humanity. They are also a threat to the future of New York City — a place that has always depended on newcomers for growth and prosperity. I was proud to stand up and speak out today with colleagues and activists.
