I'm not at all expert but know plenty of bad ways of attending to this (drawing with the right side of the brain, ugh). I suppose there are success stories; if we want kids to better recognize and act (or not) on their emotions, that's the aim of kids' SEL programs, I think.

I'm supportive of lots of ways of doing this & know of domains in which students need some education. I'm wary there have been many missteps, missteps that continue, "wars" that should have ended long ago (phonics v. whole-word), much neuro-woo. Not to be a hater at all but it's a hard task.
