Beautiful world, beautiful Kluane. The world moves along at its own pace as we people move along at ours - though we are not separate, at times it feels so much so. We are being drawn into the mire by speed - quicksand. The solution, stop… sit still. Maybe that’s the radical act needed right now.

Canada strong and free. Elbows up and keep Americans at bay from thinking they can take a piece of this beauty!! Caribou Mountain hike near Carcross Yukon. Beautiful!

I love porcupines. They understandably run away when I’m near them, but the lovely one in the photo stuck around. We allowed ourselves to be in each other’s company exchanging our mutual curiosity. Other pics are of Kathleen Lake, Dezadeash Lake, and King’s Thrown.

Biking on the Haines Pass. A wee bit chilly, but some nice views still and snow!

This is my favorite time at the cabin - quiet, snow still remains, the days getting longer and warmer... heaven!

St.Elias trail in Kluane was perfect for a quick hike/jog on the snowshoes. No sign of any bears waking up yet! Canadian National Parks are one of the many the jewels of Canada 🇨🇦.

I’m a long time NDPer and have opted for Liberals this round. Though, respect to Mr. Singh on his take on this. His clear statement should be commended.
Jagmeet Singh's reaction to this:

"If you care the country, if you care about democracy, you would get security clearance...but he chose not to...because he wanted to put his party and his partisan interests ahead of the country.

That to me disqualifies you as a prime minister candidate."
CSIS alleges India organized support for Poilievre’s 2022 Conservative leadership bid

"CSIS did not share this information with Mr. Poilievre...because he does not have the necessary security clearance to access secret documents and receive classified briefings on foreign-interference activities."

Oh Canada Strong and Free. Some beautiful pictures of Kluane National Park. Canada is Not For Sale and grateful for public parks for all to enjoy. Bring back good ol’ Canadian Snowshoeing - maybe we can start a wooden snowshoe manufacturing boom!!

This is scary. But I’ve thought of this often as a theory and this author articulates a lot of some random dark thoughts I’ve had given the psychology of Trump and the current situation our planet faces at this moment in time.
The fact that humans can only survive on Earth doesn’t bother Trump – and I know why | George Monbiot
He is surrounded by people who have plans and dreams beyond our planet. Vengeful nihilism is a big part of the Maga project, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Think this is a good take that still holds, I would argue even more so in the present, as to how we should conceive of our identities:

Not an opera guy, but I am a Philip Glass fan. Always liked the end piece - the opera is in sanskrit about Gandhi. The final lines are: “For the protection of the good And the destruction of evil doers; For the sake of establishing righteousness,
I come into being from age to age”.
Philip Glass – Evening Song Act III Pt. 3 (Satyagraha)
The Sanskrit text of “Evening Song,” the conclusion of Act III of Satyagraha: sribhagavan uvaca: Bahuni me vyatitani Janmani tava carjuna Tanyaham veda sarvani Na tvam vettha paramtapa [Ajo ‘pi san…

Every Canadian should aspire to the mental fortitude and character of Terry Fox. He did it to help everyone.
America has their Hulk Hogans.
Their Marvel comic "super heroes."
Their tech billionaire winners.
We had Terry Fox.
In our hearts we carry Terry's spirit.

Here we are faced with choice shutters and walls or open embrace. Like it or not the human race is us all.

History is what it is scars we inflict on each other don't die. But slowly soak into the DNA of us all.

I pray we not fear to love. I pray we be free of judgment and shame open the vein…

One of the most beautiful songs by one of the best Canadian songwriters. He is one artist that fits what it means to be Canadian - he can show resolute poise, humor, intelligence, love, deep insight into the human condition and world affairs and not be afraid to show ire when needed!

Lots to chew on in this piece by Stephen Marche - the author of “The Next Civil War: Dispatches from the American Future”. Heard him on a podcast, smart dude. This piece is a reflection on our relationship with our own Canadian story:

Snowshoeing is one of my favorite past times during the Canadian winter. Especially when wearing mukluks and blinded by lampwick onto traditional wooden shoes - not only do I never get cold, my bindings never come off. Sometimes the old ways just work better!! Some pics of beautiful Kluane Yukon.
