One of the most sublimely beautiful films ever made and one of the most heartbreaking. I first saw it on 35mm at the High Museum. Then it was released on laserdisc by the Criterion Collection, which I replaced when they released it on Blu-ray. I will be purchasing the inevitable Criterion 4K UHD.
