Oh dear! Apparently, according to [email protected] (nice of them to use my email. Should I charge for that?) my order for over €250,000 is on its way. I wonder how many beers that is? It'll be a cheerful Christmas!

Really hard to control my terror on seeing this. I hadn't realised I might be late. Except, for some reason, I just didn't think it was genuine ...

So far this morning, the whole of Hary Janos & Galanta - I have always loved this music since I first heard it when I was, I think, about nine years old!

One of those mornings when the first thing that happens is, my hearing aid batteries die, followed closely by a series of spam mails. The commonest ones are those from dear old Google. Look at them! Nice of Google to support other email providers, eh? Bloody spammers!

On the plus side, a gorgeous autumnal walk with the dogs. And the Berner didn't even roll in anything nasty today!V

There can be little doubt that the scammers are getting more imaginative all the time. After all, how many fraudsters before the internet would have pretended to be Grisham? Or Donna Tartt, or Patricia Cornwell, or any of the others who've been in touch recently? Sigh.

And then there's the usual fraudsters and scammers

Oh, there's more?

This morning I mentioned some of the scammers and fraudsters I had this morning. This is the evening's haul.

I did wonder about this one - at first. I checked. There is an Oxford wine & books club, and it has a website. But only one issue. It's not in Denver, it's in Oxford, curiously enough. So, another fellow trying to take an author's money. This makes six today.

Nice of him to tell me what MY BLOODY BOOK was all about!

Well, I said I'd start sharing the nonsense I keep receiving. So, the three latest:

Great weekend, firing the anvil at National Trust's Finch Foundry, walking the dogs, and reading a load of Mike Herron (well worth a read). The smiths were out in force to celebrate St Clem's day, patron saint of blacksmiths.

Latest scam today: email from "Boots The Chemist" with an address of [email protected]. Looked entirely justifiable, good quality etc - but they offered a "reward" with a fee of £1.95 for postage. Red warning of having your credit card maxed out!

Smug author here with excellent harvest of chillies!

And happily, the tiles are getting laid on the new kitchen floor. Feels like it's been too long since we last had a floor in here!Irreg

Nice little walk today - for once in a bit of sun (yeah, OK, it rained as well at times, but it was mostly glorious autumn weather!)

One of those days when I receive a nice new surprise package:
audio versions of the latest Vintaine series story!

Busy times. Trying to get things done - planning, researching, plotting the next book, also sorting out medical checkups (nothing important, just checks) and thinking of a painting for Christmas cards. Past ones below. What to do this year?Dartm

There are times - like when blatant spam messages come from such a safe company that they have state they're safe (such as those from Russia) - when you have to appreciate their honesty!

Well, yesterday meant meeting my friends in South West Writers for a great lunch, buying new pair of shoes (I'd worn out the old ones), two new keyboards, and a pile of research material. Back to the 1st Crusade!

Thank God I got out while they did it. On returning, there was a lot of noise from a damn great diesel generator, as well as the racket from all the fire and smoke alarms going off in the house! Luckily I enjoyed a walk around Meldon first!
