Since the start of last season, Liverpool have conceded 2+ goals in 16 matches away from Anfield - no current Premier League side has done so more times outside their home ground in this time.

I look at the numbers in my round-up of the Chelsea loss. #LFC

Can you deserve to lose but also be unlucky to lose at the same time?

Stats looking into that, plus Liverpool's set-piece record, and an all-time club record for Federico Chiesa in my round-up of Liverpool's defeat to Crystal Palace. #LFC

A game of two halves, as Liverpool concede their latest Premier League winner, but Chiesa breaks records.

He may see CB - a position where he will have less distance to cover - as a good position to give Bajcetic some match fitness if and when he is ready. Albeit, with a tricky fourth round League Cup draw, opportunities for that may be limited. But needs must, as van Dijk/Konate can't play every game.

I wouldn't rule out seeing one of Bajcetic or Gravenberch play at CB between now and January.

Liverpool face Crystal Palace this weekend, who are unbeaten in 17 all comps.

It's the longest unbeaten run Liverpool have faced in the Premier League since Man City, March 2024 (20).

#LFC have only won one of last 9 league games against sides on 17+ game unbeaten runs (D6 L2).

On record, Opta have 21 instances of a Premier League player creating 4+ big chances in a game all comps.

Chiesa second for Liverpool, after Salah v Sparta Prague March 2024.

Last night, Giovanni Leoni completed 88 passes - the most by a player on their Liverpool debut since Andy Robertson v Crystal Palace in August 2017 (92).

Also won 4/5 duels, and no #LFC player made more interceptions (3) or clearances (6).

Horrible news on his injury.

Liverpool have now won 6 consecutive games by exactly one goal - the longest ever run of one-goal wins in the club's entire history. #LFC

Hugo Ekitike is the first Liverpool player to both score and be red carded in the same game at Anfield since Steven Gerrard v Aston Villa in September 2001. #LFC

In Federico Chiesa and Giovanni Leoni, Liverpool have named 2 Italians in the same starting XI for only the third time ever.

December 2009 v Fiorentina - Dossena, Aquilani
September 2014 v West Ham - Balotelli, Borini

Giorgi Mamardashvili will be the first Georgian player ever to play for Liverpool.

Georgia is now the 50th nationality to have a player appear for #LFC.

It's the first new nation for the club since Colombia with Luis Díaz in February 2022.

Over their last 29 Premier League games that have come 3 days after a European match, Liverpool are averaging 2.38 pts/game.

For context, they won the title last season with 2.21 pts/game.

More stats like that in my review of Saturday's Merseyside derby.

David Moyes has still never won at Anfield in 23 attempts (D7 L16).

It's the joint-longest ever winless run by a visiting manager at Anfield v Liverpool, along with Bobby Robson from 1968 to 2004 and Brian Clough from 1971 to 1993.

Aged 23 years and 127 days, Ryan Gravenberch is the youngest Liverpool player to both scored and assist a goal in the same game v Everton since David Burrows in August 1991 (22y 310d). #LFC

How do you even begin to analyse or explain #LFC scoring five late winners in five games?

Well, I make absolutely no attempt to. Instead, enjoy a plethora of stats from last night's win over Atlético in my free round-up - and vote on your fav winner!

Fantastic question.

In Andy Robertson (31), Mo Salah (33), and Virgil van Dijk (34), Liverpool last night had 3 different scorers aged 30+ in a single match for just the fourth time ever, and first since December 1993 v QPR - Ian Rush (32), Jan Mølby (30), and John Barnes (30).

That’s a great question! I’d imagine it is but that’s beyond my knowledge.

That's 5 consecutive wins for Liverpool where the winner came in the 83rd min or later.

That's as many 83+ winners as #LFC had in the whole of last season.
michaelreid.bsky.social
It reminds me of that period in 2022 where you guys kept falling 2-0 down but winning anyway!

Aged 17 years and 19 days, Rio Ngumoha is the youngest player ever to play in European competition for Liverpool, taking Trey Nyoni's record (17y 213d) set v PSV last season. #LFC

Both Alexis Mac Allister & Dominik Szoboszlai have made their 100th appearances for Liverpool in all competitions tonight.

It's the first time 2 players have hit 100 games for #LFC in the same match since Oct 2009 v Sunderland, when 3 players did (Benayoun, Babel, Mascherano).
