City transportation planner in foggy San Francisco, CA
True. Many of the most impactful transit reliability upgrades can be built by city crews at very low cost. BRT is great, but no reason to wait decades to roll out most of the benefits.

Also, new acting head of SFMTA is a MN native. The MN-SF transit connection is strong.

As a St. Paul native who works for SF Muni, it always does my heart good to see #1701 rolling down Market Street in front of our office.

Here’s how we did it, from a street design standpoint.

Big credit also to advancements in operations practices, service planning/scheduling, maintenance improvements, accelerated operator hiring and training, etc.

Do we know if the current flag was rendered in, like, MS Paint at some point? The appearance that it was done in Paint (or maybe Kid Pix) feels like the biggest issue with it.

I have no real insight to add, but can confirm it’s super fun to be a counselor at Stanford’s youth summer program. At least it was in 2005-06.

@flavorflav.bsky.social can we get a positive ID? Hunter, I will also accept a hand-delivered signed ball as verification.

Not exactly an urbanist dream (it’s a mall), but it’s good to see people gathering together in real life anywhere these days.

It’s a super busy, vibrant shopping mall where people of all ages go to hang out. A rarity today.
