very amused that to some folks this meme is my greatest contribution to game design
A meme with the caption "when a job posting asks for a 'narrative designer'". The meme shows the pokemon Eevee in the middle labeled as "narrative designer" with the various evolutions of Eevee being labeled with the litany of tasks and specializations a narrative designer could be expected to do or cover.

Dang, that unexpected right hook got me good

It doesn't have to be a huge thing. It can be a small thing to start. Joining a Discord of people who have a shared hobby. Sharing your bad art with other artists just starting. Wear one shirt that you feel a bit unsure if you can pull off. Be earnest in small ways. <3

I admired that the group of friends were gentle and kind and explained things, forgiving him for the past person he was and embracing for the person he was trying to become.

Finding those kind of people can feel hard. Being yourself can be terrifying. But...

I remember at a show I was in, we were all laughing and making many D&D and other nerdy references. A cast member was v quiet. When asked what's wrong, he blurted out, "you're the kinds of people I used to beat up in school. Now I feel like the loser for not knowing what you're talking about."

Seek out people who are kind. Look for people you admire, people you feel comfortable being yourself around, people who share your passions and the things you care about.

I hear you on how experiences can make you withdraw and feel unable to lean into being your authentic self. Being earnest is being vulnerable, and being vulnerable means it's easy to get hurt.

...typed this so fast to smash enter I didn't notice all the glaring typos

Those typos are why you love me tho ✨

Everyone tries to tell you apathy is cool, but the sooner you learn earnestness is strength not cringe and that all your quirks are what people will fall in love with, the sooner learn how to define your own happiness and find true friends who love youf for you

If you politely mute when you aren't talking, it doesn't even matter if someone is scream meowing in the background of your zoom
an orange cat is on the floor on a towel with all his paws curled up. He isn’t screaming. But if he was, this wouldn’t affect you if you mute when you aren’t talking

I zoomed and can’t believe I was surprised by what I saw, that’s on me really

My friend sent me this image of an ad she got in her timeline and y'all the straights are not okay

"Please join our dating site no women are signing up for some reason" is a hell of a thing to confess in an ad
A screenshot of a dating app ad that reads "WE TEXT WOMEN FIRST" Yes, we message women first -- that's how it works here. Men take the initiative. We don't play games -- if we're interested, we'll make the first move. Women wanted! VIEW PHOTOS"

I had always thought surely this is an exaggeration until I was a creative lead sitting in a game leadership meeting listening to a VP unironically say as he did every week “but what IS a horror game anyway? I saw this show on Netflix and—”

The remarks weren’t “about Charlie Kirk,” they were about how this administration is using Kirk’s death as an excuse to shut down critics … and they responded by proving him completely correct.

This is all he said?! This is why ABC (in response to threats from Trump's FCC) is taking Kimmel off the air?!
Meanwhile, "many in Maga-land are working very hard to capitalize on the murder of Charlie Kirk" On Monday, JD Vance, who once called Trump
"America's Hitler",
, hosted Kirk's podcast from the
White House and blamed the left, without evidence. Said Vance: "While our side of the aisle certainly has its crazies, it is a statistical fact that most of the lunatics in American politics today are proud members of the far left."
"And by 'statistical fact',
' he means 'complete
bullshit'" Kimmel corrected. In fact, the Department of Justice removed from its website a study finding that violence from far-right groups is the greatest source of domestic terror and extremist violence in the US. "Here's a question JD Vance might be able to answer: who wanted to hang the guy who was vice president before you?" Kimmel said. "Was that the liberal left? Or the toothless army who stormed the Capitol on January 6."
"The president and his henchmen are doing their best to tan the flames, so they can I guess attack people on the dangerous left," Kimmel added, noting the incongruence with the right's former vision of so-called "snowflake" liberals. "Which is it?" he wondered. "Are they a bunch of sissy pickleball players because they're too scared to get hit by tennis balls? Or are they a well-organized army of commandos? Because they can't be both."
