ICYMI our latest paper is now out officially in print (is there still such thing?). And since Dev Cell @cellpress.bsky.social did not select our submission for cover, I post it here. A really cool illustration from my son Zack. www.cell.com/developmenta...

On my way to Wash U to give the David Beebe lecture in ophthalmology. Particularly honored as I remember Dr. Beebe giving me words of encouragement after the very first talk I gave in an international conference as a student. I remember his kindness very well!

💔 my most sincere condolences. I have never met Frank in person, but my interactions with him here and in the old twitter have always been so positive. He struck me as a very kind and nice person. Sorry for your loss.

Hi all, we got a grant for a cool project that will follow up of our paper published a few months ago (see below). We will explore how light acts as a morphogen to instruct PCP. If you are looking for a postdoc position and interested in this topic, please reach out!

Grateful to the Canadian Institutes of Health Research for funding our project "Light as a Morphogen: Unraveling a Novel Planar Cell Polarity Pathway in Retinal Function
and Disease". M Housset in my lab will be driving this project with help from @macdonaldlab.bsky.social and others not on Bsky!
