Cool that The Japan News made the Deaflympics its headline story on Sunday November 16, 2025. First time the Deaflympics are held in Japan, 100 hears since the Deaflympics began & a record number of athletes participating, this should be more prominent as news.

Managed to avoid photographing faces so I thought I would share this photo. Higashimon Street in Sannomiya, Kobe at 14:19. An hour ago this area was cordoned off.

‘Self Order and cash payment’ at my local McDonalds in Japan. In other word we type/press buttons on a screen & then pay a human cashier. But I can’t see the screen or touch it without pain due to my disabilities. Couldn’t we just do it like we did in ‘ye olde days’ when we just spoke?

Finally, I have an Apple Watch. It always seemed like an indulgence - and it is a second hand & an older model - but with everything going ‘contactless’, I may need one just to do things like paying for things someday.

Of course we can’t rule out the possibility that more people just hadn’t done the paperwork properly, but it’s easy to see why some non-Japanese people would feel scared.

Typhoon 23 looks like it might make landfall. Definitely Typhoon 22 & 23 are going to get pretty close, probably scrape Western Japan.
