Due to a strong smell coming through the furnace system from roof repairs, the Flint-Fenton Road Secretary of State branch office will be closed for the remainder of the day. Residents are being rerouted to the Clio and Davison offices. Many transactions can be completed online at Michigan.gov/SOS

The Secretary of State office at 1586 Wright Ave. in Alma will be closed on Dec. 11 and 12 for a remodeling project. It will reopen at 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 15.

Secretary Benson recently unveiled a new license plate that acknowledges the service, sacrifices and contributions of Michigan’s women veterans and is now available to order online at Michigan.gov/SOS or SOS branch offices:

Lolita Tucker, State Commander for the Michigan’s Disabled American Veterans, stands as she is recognized by Secretary Benson for her work to bring the plate to a reality.
