Even to think this way makes me wonder if I lack true compassion. Perhaps asking someone not to compare at all is only my selfish wish, because humans can never fully escape comparison.

Every time you measure yourself against me and feel sad because you think I stand above you, it breaks my heart. I don’t even know if the right thing is just to say, “Yes, I understand,” and share that feeling.
