Mixed media illustration of two kids throwing leaves in the air. Sky is mottled watercolor blue, leaves and ground are cut paper in brown, tan, and gold. The children have prominent shadows. A digital double exposure of
1. Self portrait in a vintage sideshow style in front of a dark blue tapestry with fabric stars
2. Image of texas sunset with powerlines
The two blend together in a way that the face seems to emerge from a fiery sky with hints of the tapestry at the top Photo of me teaching color mixing to young children. One child is pictured. I am using food coloring and water in a science looking beaker set up and wearing my labcoat. Image of a tired me holding a spade in a backyard that needs a lot of love. I am wearing my shark hat.

Oh thank goodness, there’s another hero. I hadn’t seen one and was scared it was all up to me. 🙃💛
mickeybiz.bsky.social
He was trying to sucker knock me down because he couldn’t get up…he looked like a turtle.

Knowing him he was probably yelling “sweep the leg” while he kept slapping at me to knock me over.
Photograph of same padded mat and humans in suit. The guy is fully on the ground stuck on his side and reaching towards Mickey who is attempting to not fall with their arms on the ground in front of them, legs straight, butt in the air.

To end on a lighter note:

Me and BFF Baby Daddy (before we were parents) having a little sumo suit wrestle.

Mid-battle photo below
Mickey and a guy with a beard are in giant sumo wrestler suits on a padded ring, staring each other down

No worries. I do appreciate the apology; sometimes folks just want to double down. 💛

I don’t really have that option anymore, but i understand that impulse.

That would be interesting. 🫀
I meant more larger community. There used to be more familiarity and communal support through deaths in times when people died in the home more universally.

Which is the reality they likely face because of our cultural sanitation of death and separation between it and ourselves.

Mortality workshop tonight making me realize that my fear of burden to loved ones when i need more care is because we have collectively lost community supports and openness around death.

Of course i would rather be surrounded by loved ones. But i don’t want them to endure that *alone* (more)

Painting with a fall palette today 🎨

Tisha Mark ©2025, oil on gessobord, 4"x4"

Photo of hand holding a small 4"x4" original autumn landscape oil painting by Tisha Mark. The painting shows a body of water reflecting colors from a sunset sky surrounded by trees that are turning red, brown, and gold. A paint palette with puddles of oil paint and a paintbrush and palette knife are visible in the background.

Here's another one of my square sketches, a loosely little red riding hood inspired motif. #art #traditionalArt #sketch #fairyTale @mickeybiz.bsky.social
Inkpen sketch. Stylized naked trees in the background indicate a forest, a long figure in a hooded coat is winding itself around another figure that's sitting in the forest, looking at it and reaching for it

This is @pinkleader.bsky.social’s fault. Totally her fault. Not mine. My head hurts. 😁💜💜💜 (Love you, Nestie!)
A marker, ink, and paint pen drawing of a stack of flapjacks (US) or pancakes (rest of the world), disguised as a jackalope (a jackrabbit Cryptid with antlers), with eyes, whiskers, ears, paws, and a pair of large antlers, all on this stack of pancakes.
The Flapjackalope is sitting in a desert with hills in the background, and the sun shining down through wisps of heat cloud. There is a cactus bottom right.
Text breaking up the shadow of the Flapjackalope says “FLAPJACKALOPE!!”. At the very bottom, I wrote “(This is Pinkleader’s fault.)”. Because it is. Totally. :)
