And finally, a panorama of the facility around the Mayall telescope from Wynn!
microlens.ing
Okay! Some more pictures of the interior structures of the Wynn and Mayall telescopes! The mirror for the Wynn was covered, but the gantries and structures inside the buildings themselves are cool.
Peeking up to the ladders and gantries inside the Wynn telescope dome, black and white, but the inside of the telescope domes are painted grey aside from the panel used for flat field correction. A collection of helmets leading up to the Wynn dome, safety first! A wide angle photograph of the dome surrounding the Mayall telescope. The overhead ladders and staircases leading to the top of the Mayall telescope dome.

Sorry! Mane 'n Tail! This is an important distinction.

Thank you! The mirror one was a bit hard to get considering how massive the structure was, I was pressing up against the railing of the platform we were on!

A real fun peek behind the curtain was someone asking how the mirrors are cleaned, and its a combination of CO2 fire extinguishers and Mane and Tail shampoo, academia lives and dies on incredibly expensive equipment being propped up by textbooks and bits of wood, I love it.

Some shots from Kitt Peak National Observatory, the McMath–Pierce solar telescope, the Mayall Telescope, both its building and mirror, and the surrounding Tohono Oʼodham Nation.
The McMath–Pierce solar telescope, which used to funnel light from the sun several hundred feet underground, a nearly-full moon is directly overhead. The Mayall Telescope building, a large, capped cylindrical building that used to house full-time telescope operators, is in the bottom of the frame, beyond that and above is the boundless sky. The 4 meter primary mirror of the Mayall telescope, what used to be a general observation telescope in the 1970s has since been retrofitted to carry thousands of robotically controlled spectroscopic fibres for the DESI experiment. Facing north from Kitt Peak, into Tohono Oʼodham land, a snippet of the road leading up the mountain can be seen.

Last week I was at The Solar System in Context conference, which was absolutely fantastic, it was hosted in the AIR ENR2 Building, which is one of the most gorgeous places I've ever worked out of!
Vines trailing the corrugated siding of an eco-friendly office building, the siding gently curves, said to mimic the shape and structure of a box canyon. Looking straight up through the open-topped lobby of the building, the plants and the curves of the siding are more readily apparent. A wider-angle shot, straight on, showing the abundance of hanging plants and bushes, that help cool the structure through evaporation. Another straight-up shot, vines hang down to the camera, out of focus.

good morning creatures and critters
image of a desert landscape at dawn. in the foreground is a long dirt road, stretching out to a point in the distance with a powerline running along its side. on the right is a yellow road sign. out in the distance is the silhouette of the mountains, its peaks barely illuminated by the rising sun. the sky is a gentle gradient from pale orange to a desaturated blue. the full moon shines just barely left of center of the image.

I reckon I could land it in one of the LA River culverts like in The Core, it would be trivial I think

If you're a Silent Ace Combat Protagonist, which is worse, the sky speaking latin, or the sky playing Sapinish guitar?

If "AI" was as valuable as they say it is, they wouldn't be selling it to you. They'd be using it themselves in secret to make the next Minecraft, the next Avatar, the next Hello Kitty and then they'd sell that to you.

They're trying to sell you a sick goose, while pretending it lays golden eggs.

Being in an Adam Curtis B-Roll shot is pretty bad, but y’know what’s worse? Being in a Ken Burns B-Roll shot.

I'd be able to land it just fine, no problems, they'd think it was normal

One Battle After Another and Sinners both lay out a formula for cinema success: diverse movies where white nationalists get duffed in the most graphic way possible shot and presented in increasingly baroque high resolution formats.
