Green ash is an early-flowering wind-pollinated tree with female (L) and male (R) flowers. Ash trees are heavily foraged by bees in need of early spring food, though they don't pollinate them. Green ash is rapidly disappearing due to emerald ash borer, and this important food source is largely gone.
