We also explore through Planning Scenarios how giving management priority to different sets of features (for example #Forest species and #Carbon sequestration or Open Habitat and Food supply) will require different spatial configurations.
Boxplot showing how different management priorities (Forest VS Open Habitat) will require different amounts of land allocated to each management strategy (Afforestation, Rewilding, Farmland and Agroforestry). Schematic workflow of the study where we essentially present the planning tool four potential future states of the landscape, one under each management strategy (Afforestation, Rewilding, Farmland and Agroforesty). We then set up the tool so it can essentially combine the four management strategies in space based on where they would provide the highest benefits towars meeting management targets for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services, this improving the efficiency of the landscape and minimising potential trafe-offs.
