My project aims to understand the dynamics, regulation, and biological functions of the local #chromatin structure in the context of how plants 🌱 adapt to their #environment.

Almost 50% of lab workers identify as neurodiverse.

So what difference could it make for research organisations to fully embrace neurodiversity in their workplace culture?

We supported the John Innes Centre to implement a project aiming to do just that 👇

What a fabulous work! A polyA "tailored" mechanism to enhance #mRNA vaccine efficiency via cytoplasmic re-adenylation. Huge impact on #RNAtherapeutics.
A demonstration of the scientific excellence of Polish research institutions.

🌐Our @nature.com paper is out! Researchers from IIMCB and other Polish institutions show how TENT5A boosts mRNA vaccine efficacy by stabilizing therapeutic mRNAs and enhancing antigen production. A step toward better therapies for cancer and beyond! 🧬

Physics of Life 2025 @physicsoflifeuk.bsky.social has been a fantastic meeting. To step forward into understanding #Biology it really is urgent to integrate #Biophysics, #Biochemistry, #StructuralBiology, #Computational modelling, #Theory, etc...
I'm very happy to be part of this community.

Our paper has been published! We used in vivo single-particle tracking to demonstrate that the assembly of core FCA oligomers into functional macromolecular condensates.
Thanks to all the authors and colleagues!

This has been part of a fantastic collaboration with @janhuemar.bsky.social @juliamaristany.bsky.social and @rcollepardo.bsky.social

And, it has opened super exciting future research directions.

We hypothesize that these temperature-dependent dynamics alter the #chromatin structure from a modality active for #transcription to a state that can be #Polycomb silenced.
miguelmontez.bsky.social
Spoiler alert!
We found local nucleosome dynamics at the FLC locus in Arabidopsis 🌱 that:
(1) integrate a cold-induced silencing mechanism
(2) reveal H2A.Z incorporation preventing silencing by #PRC1 and #PRC2
(3) involve local/fine-scale 3D structural changes to the chromatin
miguelmontez.bsky.social
We found many interesting insights into the dynamic and structural nature of a PRC2 nucleation region/PRE.

Needless to say, this has a substantial impact on understanding the fundamental basis of epigenetic switches underpinning cell identity and responses to the #environment.
