He's a walking parody of a non-answer politician.

I hear they're going to issue *sternly worded* press releases soon! If things get really bad, they might even upgrade them to passive-aggressive!

Are we completely sure the lead singer of Disturbed isn't a NZ possum?

If you alienate every person who voted for Trump from voting better next time, good job, you just lost every future election for the next 20 years.

Remember many people voted for Reagan and later voted for Obama. He would have lost if they didn't.
February 1, 2025 at 1:27 AM
What in the world are you talking about?
February 1, 2025 at 1:22 AM
Exactly this. People often lump everyone who voted Republican together, which is a mistake.

There's a whole range of different views, opinions, and motivations among them. Many of them voted for Obama and Biden. I disagree with their decision as a voter but they're not all wretched people.

There's a good chance they're not even real people. Social media bots meant to get people annoyed at a certain group (in this case, people on the left) are probably very effective.

There's a brand of leftist whose entire playbook is to sit on the sidelines and complain about anyone in power while doing nothing else.

They're the ones who turned on AOC the moment she started having influence in DC. They're the ones who didn't vote.

Ignore them. They'll just drain your spirit.

And I do agree with the entitled element, but I think it's also important to remember they're kids and young adults. Young people are historically pretty self-centered.

That's not to excuse it, but important context to remember.
January 23, 2025 at 4:50 AM
I might agree but unfortunately, I've seen many leftist threads where someone brings up a reasonable issue that young men are facing, and 80-90% of the replies are people dismissing it or insulting them directly.

When someone's difficulties are mocked openly, that shows no interest in keeping them.

OK, that's a fair ask. To me, his conduct on Twitter has made it clear what his beliefs are. Here's a major example: www.theguardian.com/technology/2...
Elon Musk agrees with tweet accusing Jewish people of ‘hatred against whites’
Owner of X responds to antisemitic tweet calling it ‘the actual truth’ and criticizes Anti-Defamation League

I have some experience with cults and how to break people out of them. Trumpism is one.

With rare exception, people cannot just realize they've been conned. Early on, it takes people around them to persuade them. If that doesn't happen early, it becomes nearly impossible to get them out.
January 23, 2025 at 4:38 AM
Thank you. I feel like most people responding are completely missing the point.

He's not endorsing what they're saying. He's pointing out that this is what young guys are consuming and we need to be aware of it and respond appropriately.
January 23, 2025 at 3:15 AM
When someone shows you who they are, believe them.

He's not an idiot. He knew exactly what he was doing. And there's a word for someone who does Nazi things to be cool. It's "Nazi".
January 23, 2025 at 3:04 AM
I didn't come into the world enlightened and neither did you. Good people made the effort to teach us and help us grow into decent adults. We wouldn't be if all those people did was tell us to "do better".

You're asking young men to do something we couldn't have done on our own.
January 23, 2025 at 3:01 AM
This is the difference between the left and the right at this point in history.

The left doesn't think young men are worth the effort.

The right does and so they make the effort.

Guess which one is winning their vote.

Yeah, but they're ugly, unlike beautiful coal and gas power plants. Those big tanks and pipes that billow smoke are basically modern-day cathedrals.

It appears that he never socially developed past early adolescence.

Everything he values seems to be what the average 12 y/o boy values: looking cool in video games, edgy humor, giving his stuff names like Dragon or X, sleeping with many women and having lots of kids but not raising them, etc.
January 21, 2025 at 11:53 PM
But they allow people to feel morally superior and absolved of anything bad while not actually requiring them to do anything!
January 21, 2025 at 4:00 AM
Those of us on the left have hurt the nation by not being willing to acknowledge obvious but uncomfortable truths.

We need to call a spade a spade. Elder senior citizens should not be making national decisions the consequences of which they are unlikely to be alive to see in 10 years.

"We might have lost once again, but at least we looked good while losing. Which is basically the same as winning." - Democrats
January 6, 2025 at 11:51 PM
"Well, yes, the Republicans did exactly what they wanted and got everything they hoped for, but we issued a scathing, sassy statement about it so you could say we're pretty much even." - Every Democrat in office for the last decade

"Fast food jobs are for high schoolers. They were never meant as jobs for adults."

OK, then I hope you only ever want a burger between 3:00pm and 7:00pm on weekdays.

I'm also pretty pro-college, but colleges should implement more trade-centric programs. They're extremely valuable skills and the jobs that use them won't be automated away anytime soon.

To stay competitive, colleges need to provide more programs that lead to solid, in-demand jobs.
