Unannounced album drop from one of Australia's best bands. Great to hear these songs in recorded form after seeing some of them played live at Jerkfest earlier this year. (Braggity brag)

Hell, I still think it's weird that Nixon was president when I was born. Every time I think about that I'm like "oh no"

Finished this a couple of days ago. Billed as "hard sci-fi" but it's so much more than that. Fascinating characters, with reflections on the nature of art, AI, and the ethics of violent resistance, among other themes. Brilliant. #JustRead

We went to the library! It's been way too long since I last browsed the stacks and checked out a physical book. What fun! (I have to finish the other @sueburke.bsky.social book I'm reading before I start this one)
The book Dual Memory by Sue Burke, borrowed from the King County Library branch in Burien

Finally got around to hanging the #SteveKeene painting we bought at #Dromfest. His famous album cover paintings were too big to haul back, but I like this one because it's unique. $20 well spent!
A semi-abstract painting by Steve Keene depicting a scene from Pompeii, painted in red, yellow, teal, black, and white on an oval shaped piece of wood with another, crescent shaped piece of wood affixed to the front Angled closeup of the painting showing the painted edges Angled closeup of the painting showing the painted edges

Lisa Simpson, just home from grocery shopping with her mom, exclaims excitedly, "We got beets!"

A Murderbot murder mystery is a good use of the character. I figured out whodunnit pretty quickly. A quick, fun read — these books are a nice breather from all the epic trilogies. #JustRead

I have no idea of the context behind this, but I like it anyway

I can't get over how smart and humane (maybe not the right word due to many characters being nonhuman) this series by @sueburke.bsky.social is. Beautiful stuff. #JustRead
