I never realized how bad Apple Time Machine was. I switched to arq (MacOS machines) and restic (Linux machines) over the weekend. It is a MASSIVE speed improvement.
I can also shutdown SMB on the NAS and use sftp to use them. An improvement on all fronts.

I needed to finish up a whitepaper outside of work. At the end I thought I'd use AI to write the closing paragraph. I spent 15min going through Apple and Google help pages, gave up, and pasted it into ChatGPT to get it done. I know Google is incompetent at UX, but Apple, UX is your thing. Fix it.
