Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

So, this will take 20 years. Liverpool to Hull is 125 miles. For reference, the HST line from Madrid to Seville - crossing mountainous terrain far more rugged than the Pennines, and featuring 31 viaducts and 17 tunnels - is twice as long, at 250 miles. It took two and half years to build.
