Gay and Sunderland. At 61, I'm way too old to care what anyone thinks of me. Possibly a little Left of Marx, and Green at heart. Vaguely Pagan, the way the Ramtops witches are. Don't hear too well, medically. Electronically enhanced ;-)
Some things just catch my eye. Wet bare branches backlit by a street light created this almost abstract circle of illumination

Sunderland's Keel Line, an installation stretching across Keel Square for almost 292m, to it's end on the newly opened Keel Crossing footbridge over the River Wear. On the Keel Line are the names of the over 8,000 ships built in Sunderland. Shipbuilding ended in 1988 with the Superflex November.

Fishing boats, River Wear, Sunderland. As the sun drops lower this time of year, there's some interesting light to be had :-) #FishingBoats #cobble #RiverWear #Sunderland #photography #boats #reflections #water

Impulse buy! I'm generally in the 'put a jumper on' camp, but it was half price and I may be finally getting old. I'm a bit dubious about the 8p/hour running cost, though.

I don't like Xmas, but I love mince pies! And the Best Before is Nov 5th. Not that they'll see the week out.

Another dawn, another hope. Sunrise over the North Sea at Sunderland, 06:20hrs local (BST). Can never help but mentally play Grieg's 'Morning Mood' from Peer Gynt when I watch these :-)

Busy morning at the Port Of Sunderland. HMS Trent arrives as the tanker Schwyz prepares to leaves, aided by three Svitzer tugs. #maritime #RoyalNavy #P224 #HMStrent #Schwyz #Sunderland #shipping #tugs #warship #tanker #Svitzer

When I move home, I won't have views like this. Close-by, maybe, but not from my bedroom window. #Seascape #shipping #NorthSea #Sunderland

Qualifies as a digital photograph, by definition? I reckon it's as much a 'photograph' as a Rayogram or sun print ;-) Produced directly on a flatbed scanner, damsel fly wings. #scanner #ScanoGram #FlyWings

I love the blueness of the light. The moon wasn't playing nice, but even peeking from behind a cloud isn't bad. 10 minutes later, it was hidden. #photography #Sunderland #nightscape #cityscape #LowLightPhotography

I swear building this 1/20 kit of a Honda CB750, the model engine feels like it's taking longer to put together than when I rebuilt a real one.

2. Making the most of my last day off work, great weather and our often overlooked North East England coast. Overlooked because the weather is usually shit tbf. Souter Point, just north of Whitburn village. Low tide and limestone. #Landscape #seascape #photography #NorthEastEngland #beach #coast

For a future archive. From across the northern bank of the River Wear, Sunderland, 3 tower blocks dominate the sky-line. It's highly likely (although not yet official) that these will be demolished very soon. I live in the right-most one.
