This home move is causing me all sorts of stress, because I have no set date. I know /exactly what's in my cupboards, how many days of rent I'm ahead, my freezer contents. The amount of laundry capsules. My inhalers, my hearing aid batteries. All, and other things I use to maintain stability. Taken.

I think it's well-known that since the start of the Cold War, US military made contingency plans to invade enemies and allies alike. Not unreasonable, strategically speaking. But of their time; yet I doubt those plans aren't still living documents.

Finally got the laptop to boot Linux mint. I suspect some jiggery-pokery with efi, so work-around by installing Mint, then set up a 40Gb Manjaro partition, which does boot. It finds Mint in Grub, and saves last booted as a default. Only using laptop cos desktop will be packed for moving house.

I think AI is a bit over-hyped, not mature tech and often seems wrongly applied in fields where it's unnecessary. But I may love it if it can do accurate live sport sub-titles without the delays 😁

I have a new home to go to, but my housing provider can't give me even a rough move date, beyond 'probably not til new year': 200+ tenants to be compulsorily rehomed, I appreciate their nightmare. Doesn't lower my stress any though.
