Thoughts and ramblings of a former singer songwriter.

I’m a Beatles fan. I support Manchester United. I hate bigots of all kinds.

I’m a Socialist. If you think Thatcher ruined something statistically you’ve a 99% chance of being right.

I follow back.

This seems like a hundred years ago now. A part of my life I enjoyed until I didn’t.

They just did the budget where they throw you a few crumbs while still allowing the rich to increase their wealth massively at your expense. It's also known as the 'they're thick as pig shit' budget.

Honestly we've seen it all before.

I'm pleased about the pay rises but also it's got to be said they really, really, really STILL don't get it.
You can raise wages for the lowest paid as much as you like but if you're thick enough to STILL not tackle route causes of the cost of living, people will be just treading water.

Look at how much we pay for Council Tax, Water, Electricity, Gas, Food, Petrol, these things are crippling us #LABOUR

Does Farage really not know that the racism is the main reason that racists are voting for him? Where would he be without it?

Probably the sensible move given his track record for lying.
KS just said free school meals have lifted 100k children out of poverty I’ve never seen this claim justified and it looks very iffy. It may have alleviated the poverty that many children experience. Until justified I’ll assume it’s a lie.

the bbc changed their article from saying 'trans woman' to saying 'biological male who identifies as a woman'.

even if you don't care about trans ppl it should alarm you just how captured the bbc has become.

they will no longer even say 'trans woman'. that's not normal and shows massive bias.

Great listen
Debate today with a Labour MP on the economy.

Also with a former advisor to George Osborne.

Very striking how much Labour & the Tories agree on our economic system.

Time for change. Let's make hope normal again. Enjoy! 🙌🏼👇🏼

It's been a year. And for Labour to collapse in polling in only a year is truly terrible. How Labour can decide that the solution is just to pander to the right, and their reaction to this is to just continue policies that will only lose them votes and embolden Reform proves how terrible Starmer is.

I was a lifelong Labour voter - a traditional fit for an advice worker. I do not agree w the extreme right wing policies. Final straw has been the persecution of disabled people and those on low income, in order to protect the people who line their pockets *waves @zackpolanski.bsky.social*

AKA The madness of the Labour Party.
Imagine the Labour internal meeting that goes something like this

'Reform voters really detest us, they're never going to vote for us should we be chasing the votes of people that might actually vote for us instead?'

'No we want the Reform voters'

This kind of thing would destroy other parties. Reform seem bullet proof so far anyway.
I’d have thought nothing cuts more against our precious British values than selling out your country for Russian bribes…

And yet Reform, the right‑wing press, and all those self‑styled guardians of these values have nothing to say

…funny that.

Not a single bad look or adverse comment made to this 6”-4” trans chick…

Not one.

That just shows people just don’t give a shit about trans people. It is only the GC freaks that obsess over us‼️🏳️‍⚧️

Me too.
Have to say, I'm heartily enjoying the fact that the First Past the Post voting system - which the duopoly parties have preserved for decades, in the teeth of all logic and a mushrooming democratic deficit - is actually the thing which is going to do for both of them in the end.
Whilst it’s still hilarious really all that’s happened is they’ve scuttled off to Reform

There's a degree of balance to the 'changed' Labour project:

All those left-wing 'pledges' Sir Keir Starmer made and subsequently broke are balanced out by all the unannounced right-wing fascist policies he's put in place which were also unannounced...
