My Brain:
"Psst, here's a great idea for your book."

Me:
"I'm busy. I'll write it down later. I'll remember it."

Morgan Freeman:
"But he did not remember it, for his brain soon moved on to wonder how cottage cheese gets made."

Great blue heron for the Bird of the Day with the theme headshots.

This fellow was very obliging by letting take his portrait from about 30 feet away over the course of an hour.

Happy Thanksgiving to those who are celebrating. When it comes to #BirdOfTheDay, I will admit to generally discarding any #Headshots, but was glad to find this exception in the form of a Chinese Goose playing peek-a-boo amidst the rocks in Gifford Pinchot State Park. 🦉🐦

Happy Thanksgiving! Seven members of our coffee klatch gathered to connect together before we went our separate ways today, and they voted for this photo looking slightly north taken 8 minutes before sunrise. Tap for full size. I hope you have a great day!

Some gorgeous double-breasted cormorants by Canada Place in Vancouver Harbour. Fun fact, even though they dive underwater to hunt, their feathers aren't waterproof. They spend a lot of time stretching out their wings to dry themselves on land after hunting. #birds #photography

Eve of Thanksgiving here in the US; to the non-US folks, its hard to get across how much of a big deal this is here - I'd argue that to many here its THE holiday of the year. For me right now; thankful for heat again! Time for some #undulating water to celebrate!

One of three Tawny Frogmouths I encountered on a short walk down the Darwin esplanade last night. They were rather chill, allowing me to get this photo with my phone.

Since the invention of eBay and such, some weird phrases have become fashionable in online book listings.

There are agreed terms (see Carter's "ABC for Book Collectors") that most professional booksellers use.

One popular term right now is... problematic.

Let's talk about "tight" binding. (🧵 1/4)

I took this a few weeks ago.
I’ve seen White Bellied Sea Eagles take sea birds before. I think this is a Black Cormorant. Possibly a Muttonbird. They can become exhausted during migration.
