This is great, I wish the UK was still in the EU so we could have this policy too.

i also talked about it to a girl who isn't a writer, but she was super sweet and said she would read it if i drew it - i gave a v brief summary and she was like, "so sci-fi like ursula le guin" - i wish!! i want to work hard to make that kind of comparison real aha.

and it's also been important to see the realistic sacrifices they're making. also worth saying i was out of it for a year + because of an injury/disability

it did not happen on my own record lol. i talked about it extensively yday with friends who are poets/playwrights and have been super inspired by my screenwriter classmate who is writing all the time. i'm glad to have so many new people in my life who are committed to their craft

Like yesterday I was in a charity shop, and I saw a magazine cover that was AI generated... when I see things like this I don't know if it's people being naive and unintentionally using AI they find on search engines, or intentionally generating it.

I hate that we have to see AI generated slop everywhere and that as artists, it's now something we have to compete with both aesthetically and financially.

Sure, AI can make a pretty picture or flowery text, but it's completely superficial and AI generated emails often sound unnecessarily pretentious, and AI generated images feel very shallow.

So much of writing is thinking of creative ways to structure a story and making sure every word is right to convey the intended effect. But AI completely lacks this.
