today i finally drew the first page of the comic i've been working on for almost 4 years! was a big step. turns out the problem wasn't that i wasn't writing enough, it was that i wasn't drawing enough because i was afraid i was not good enough/not ready

If people have $40 to pay the ChatGPT image generator to turn their family into a ghibli illustration, they could have paid a living artist to do the same...

I came across an article today that had an interesting take on generative AI, that is reassuring to me as an artist and writer:

I wanted to install:
- Da Vinci Resolve for video editing
- VRoid for 3d characters
- Nomad Sculpt for 3d character modelling once I get an Apple Pen again... or ZBrush Core for laptop... Blender I guess but don't have the best memories there... maybe something for 3d environments too...

I also got a new laptop with SAI on it! Unfortunately the first character design I tried to paint does not look good so far... skill issue on my part, I guess. I haven't painted digitally for years (2022?) and barely drew last year for helth reasons... so maybe that explains why

I've actually plotted out most of part 1, well outlined, have resumed working on the character designs, so hopefully would like to see the actually comic being drawn... something i say every year

Today my friend came over and they started talking about young people in gangs, and I ended up interviewing them about it for my project. Really interest material for my fictional work, but also very sad seeing the govermental neglect and poverty that leads a lot of teens to this point.

Trying to decide between getting a wacom intuos vs intuos pro - curious to know anyone's experiences! My current thoughts:
- intuos takes up less space and I have limited desk space
- pro has a surface that wears down nibs
- but pro is apparently the best screen-less tablet you can get

I made this account but then I got really busy and didn't have any time to go on it!
