I don’t think they’re misreading them so much as they are terrified of the implications because it means the status quo has to break. there’s no incrementalism for this. mass radicalization of this scale scares Democrats more than anything Republicans could do and I mean that literally.
Kind of feel like a lot of politicians, even in Minnesota, are misreading the implications of this moment. I feel like the past three days have been tremendously radicalizing for so many people. I have witnessed it even in my own small communities, it goes beyond just incandescent rage.

The double whammy of Discord moving towards an IPO and sending out a survey to see what sort of AI garbage they could get away with sends a pretty clear message about where they want to go.

AI glasses are vaporware that will create masses of e-waste and in most cases barely function. An alarming amount of this show is LLM wrappers. I was here when Kickstarter and Indiegogo was big - this is magnitudes more deceptive and misleading, and the CTA should be ashamed.

weirdly silent about ICE killing an unarmed woman in cold blood, surely there's no politics at play here
Violence is always unacceptable, and threats of violence have no place in public discourse. Our thoughts are with Charlie Kirk and his family.

irony here in QT this, but turning off QTs altogether is also a huge win for your well-being. i get there's utility there, but i had so many bad experiences with bad faith QTs at kotaku that its easier to just live in peace.
Can I really encourage people to try out the detach quote feature on BlueSky. I use it all the time. If you’re getting lots of nasty comments (or even unwelcome cheerful ones) because you’ve been quoted, you can just remove your quoted post. Louis, feel free to try it on this post. It’s a lifesaver.
Yes, blocking and muting aggressively does help, I agree. And for the daily trickle of trolls, it's even adequate.

But when you get a sudden deluge due to a QT from someone with a following, it's nowhere near enough.
