HAPPENING NOW — This morning, Mayor Brandon Johnson signed an executive order establishing “ICE-free zones.”

“That means that city property and unwilling private businesses will no longer serve as grounds for these raids,” Johnson said to applause.

Ald. Jessie Fuentes’ office just released a statement she was handcuffed and threatened arrest amid ongoing ICE activity in Humboldt Park.

Tear gas was also used on passersby at a Home Depot an at Rico Fresh, her office says.

Some liberals are publicly mourning a fascist because they’re afraid of political violence being pointed at themselves in retaliation (even though there’s no suspect).

My partner did this last summer at a patio restaurant in Lincoln Park. A bird flew into the wall and was injured. As she was on the ground setting the injured bird into a to-go container to transport it, a VP at my company walked in, saw us, and intro-d us to his wife. Lots of weird looks…
